Tell StudSheet what you’re building and it asks the questions that change the answer. Then you get a Sheet: a construction drawing, every material counted with the math shown, the tools to own, buy or rent, the order of work, the mistakes that ruin the job, and permit and safety notes — with a stamp that says DIY OK, PRO STEP or PRO JOB. Save it as a job and it carries you through: one shopping trip, build mode with timers, photos and notes. Contractors get a job notebook too: clients, guided measurements, sketches, before-and-after photos, estimates and client reports.
What we promise
No account needed
Plan, save jobs, build your shopping list, use build mode and the Tool Shed without signing up. It all stays on your device.
No purchases, no tracking ads
Nothing to buy and nothing to unlock. Your own jobs and data are never behind a paywall. The only ads are labeled cards in the community tab, picked on your device by the area you set.
We don’t sell your data
No ad networks, no tracking across other apps or sites, and no marketing notifications — only the reminders you turn on.
Honest scope
Electrical, plumbing, gas, heating and cooling, structural work and additions are licensed or engineered work: homeowners get “what’s involved + get a quote”, never DIY math, and pros get the pro Sheets. On DIY jobs, the steps most people should hire out (a steep roof, a balcony guard) are marked PRO STEP.
Quotes from verified local pros
A quote request goes to up to 3 pros who are verified in StudSheet and cover your area. Your name and contact go only to the pros who answer, and they’re never posted.
Who’s behind it
StudSheet is made in New Jersey, for DIYers and contractors across the United States and Canada. Every rule behind the math is written out on How the math works, and each calculator stays a Draft until every one of its rules is signed off.
Asking local pros for a quote is free, and you never have to hire anyone.
