The StudSheet community is for people working on their homes: asking questions, showing progress, and saying what worked. Keep it useful and kind.
You must be 14 or older, wherever you live.
To post, you need an account and you must accept these rules and our Terms of Use.
Your profile shows your handle and your town. Never your address.
Questions, even basic ones. Everyone starts somewhere.
Progress and finished-job photos.
What worked, what didn't, and what you'd do differently.
Tool and material tips from real use.
Honest mistakes, so the next person avoids them.
Only verified pros give safety verdicts. Their badge shows their trade.
Everyone can share experience. Nobody should tell someone that gas, electrical panel, structural or roof work is safe to DIY.
Posts about risky work get a safety banner suggesting a pro. Please don't argue with it.
A verdict here is an opinion about a photo, not an inspection.
No street addresses or house numbers. Posts that contain them are blocked.
Check your photos before posting. Crop out house numbers, license plates, mail, and anything with a name on it. (We remove the location data stored inside photos for you.)
Don't post photos of people who haven't agreed. Avoid photos where children can be identified.
Don't post anyone else's personal information.
There are no private messages on StudSheet. Keep the conversation in the thread.
Accounts newer than 7 days can't post phone numbers, emails or links right away. Those posts wait for a quick review.
Don't ask people to contact you somewhere else.
No ads, affiliate links, referral codes or sales pitches in posts, comments, handles or profiles. Businesses that want to reach the community can buy the labeled sponsor spot instead ("Advertise here" in the community tab).
Pros: answer questions; don't pitch your business.
Disclose connections. If you work for, own, or are related to someone who owns a business you mention, say so in the post. The StudSheet team account is ours and is labeled; it posts common questions with answers and announcements.
Pros on the lead board: don't use the community to chase homeowners or move a quote request out of the app. Answer requests on the lead board.
No fake reviews, and no posting the same thing over and over.
This is what we mean by objectionable content. We remove it, and we remove people who post it:
harassment, bullying, threats, or hate based on who someone is,
sexual content or nudity, and any intimate image shared without consent (including fakes),
anything that sexualizes minors (we report it to the authorities),
violence, or encouraging someone to hurt themselves or others,
illegal activity, including dangerous work done to avoid permits or inspections,
impersonating a person, a pro, StudSheet staff or the StudSheet team account,
content you don't have the rights to, and
scams and malware.
Report: tap ••• on any post, comment or profile, then Report. Pick a reason.
Block: tap ••• on a post or profile, then Block. Their posts and comments disappear for you right away. They are not told.
We review reports within 24 hours.
Intimate image of you? Choose Report → "Intimate image of me", or email support@studsheet.com with the subject "Intimate image removal". You don't need an account. We remove valid reports within 48 hours.
Something urgent or unsafe? Email support@studsheet.com.
Swearing, slurs and sexual words: the post or comment waits for a review before anyone sees it.
Aggressive posts: the app asks you to say it kinder first. If you post it anyway, it goes up, flagged for staff to review.
Strikes: each post or comment that is held or flagged this way, or that staff hide, is a strike. If staff find it was fine, the strike goes away.
Three strikes in 30 days pause your posting for 7 days. You can still read and report.
Blocked for good: staff can block an account for serious or repeated violations, like threats, harassment, sexual content or intimate images shared without consent. A blocked account can't post, comment or vote, and its posts and comments are hidden.
We remove posts and comments that break these rules, and tell you why.
Think we got it wrong? Email support@studsheet.com with the subject "Moderation appeal". A person will look at it again, and can lift a pause or block and clear your strikes.
The founder moderates the community, with help from automatic filters. Filters block street addresses; hold contact details and links from new accounts; hold posts and comments with swearing, slurs or sexual words for review; and flag aggressive posts. Staff review what's held, flagged or reported.
