Effective date: [Month Day, Year]
You can plan, save jobs, build lists, use build mode and the Tool Shed without an account. That data stays on your device.
You need an account (an email address) to post in the community, sync your devices, send or answer quote requests, add your logs to "the meta", or join a pro's crew in the app.
We do not sell your data. We do not use ad networks or advertising IDs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites. We don't send marketing email.
Usage stats are off unless you say yes. If you agree, the app counts which screens and features are used, without your name, answers, photos or location. You can turn them off in Settings.
Camera, plan files and location are handled on your device. Room scans, receipts, plans and paint color previews are processed on your phone or in your browser; nothing is sent to us to do it. Your location is asked for only when you tap "Check the weather here", and it goes only to a government weather service, never to us.
The community tab can show one local sponsor card. Your device picks it from the area you set. Nothing about you is sent to pick it, and we don't count who sees or taps it.
Quote requests go only to pros registered and verified in StudSheet, at most 3 per request. Pros see the job and the area. Your name and contact go only to the pros who answer.
Pros can keep client details, crew details, estimates, invoices and job photos in StudSheet. Only that pro can see them. A client link or an equipment page can be opened by anyone who has it, until the pro turns it off.
Card payments go through Stripe, straight to the pro. We never see card numbers.
StudSheet is for people in the United States and Canada. Our servers are in the United States (see If you're in Canada).
You can delete your account in the app or at app.studsheet.com/delete-account.
StudSheet is run by [StudSheet LLC] ("we", "us"). Mailing address: [Mailing address]. Email: support@studsheet.com.
StudSheet is made by IONIAN Digital (www.ionian.co ↗). While we test it with early users, the apps are published under IONIAN Digital's App Store and Google Play accounts, so the stores show IONIAN Digital as the developer. [Founder: until the new company exists, put the legal name and address of the company that runs StudSheet (IONIAN Digital's, if it does) in the two brackets above, and say here how it relates to the company that will take over.] When StudSheet moves to its own company, we will tell you first (see If the business changes hands).
This policy covers the StudSheet apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web app at app.studsheet.com, the website at studsheet.com, the StudSheet calculators that other websites embed, and StudSheet's connector for ChatGPT and Claude.
If you don't sign in, this data is stored only on your phone or in your browser. We never receive it.
Your answers to project questions and the Sheets they produce.
Home details, when a Sheet needs them: year built, town and ZIP or postal code.
Where you work: your country, state or province, and whether you use feet and inches or metric. The app works this out on your device from the ZIP or postal code you type, or from your device's region setting, unless you pick it yourself.
Saved jobs, notes, job photos, your shopping list, cut lists, your Tool Shed and tool inventory.
Pro records (see section 3): clients, crew, estimates, invoices, the price book and estimate templates, the schedule, service plans, van and shop stock.
Store receipts you add to a job, plan takeoffs and the plan files you open, room scan measurements, and paint color previews you save.
The weather point and forecast for a job, if you checked the weather there.
Build mode progress, timers and the reminders you turn on.
Badges, quests and your loadout logs.
Settings, such as light or dark theme, and your answer about usage stats.
The search box and the calculators run on your device. What you type there is not sent to us. Reminders are scheduled on your device. We do not send marketing notifications.
Camera, location and files. These features do their work on your device. Nothing is sent to us, or to anyone else, to make them work.
Room scan (iPhones and iPads with a LiDAR scanner). The camera is used on your device by Apple's RoomPlan. The scan is processed on the device, and StudSheet keeps only the resulting measurements (wall lengths, ceiling height, doors and windows) with the job. No images or 3D model are kept.
Receipts. A store receipt is read on your device: by Apple Vision on iPhone, or in your browser by a reader that runs inside the StudSheet page, using files served by StudSheet. No outside service is used. The receipt's numbers and its photo stay on your device. Receipts never appear on a client link or a report.
Plan takeoff. The plans you open (PDFs and images) stay on the device you opened them on. Images are saved without their location data. The plan files are deleted with the takeoff, with the job, or when you delete your data on that device.
Paint color preview. The photo is recolored on your device, and nothing is uploaded. A photo you pick stays in memory until you save; a saved preview becomes one of the job's photos, and the color you chose goes in the job's record.
Before/after video. The video is made in your browser from the job's photos on your device. It ends with a QR code that opens the Sheet's public page (sizes and answers only, never your photos or details). It goes out only when you download or share it.
Weather for outdoor jobs. When you tap "Check the weather here" on a job, StudSheet asks your device for its approximate location (only while you use the app). We round it to about 1 km on your device and send only that rounded point to the National Weather Service (United States) or Environment and Climate Change Canada to get the forecast. We never receive it. The point and the forecast stay on your device with that job; they are not synced to your account or shared. Until you tap "Forget this location", opening build mode for that job refreshes the forecast at most once an hour. Nothing is sent before you tap.
If you sign in, receipts (with their photos), takeoff numbers, room scan measurements and saved previews sync to your account like the rest of your jobs (see section 2). Photos have their location data removed on your device first. Plan files and the weather point never leave the device.
Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, deletes this data. We can't recover it for you.
Email address. We use it to send sign-in codes and account notices (for example security notices, changes to this policy, a moderation decision about your post, or an answer to your quote request). We don't send marketing email.
Profile. Your handle, your town, and whether you are a DIYer or a pro.
Community content. Posts, comments, photos in posts, votes, and the "worked for me" and "saved" marks you add.
Reports and blocks you make.
Loadout logs you choose to share, which feed "the meta" (see below).
Synced data, while you're signed in: a copy of your jobs (with their receipts, takeoff numbers and measurements), lists, notes, job photos, home details, Tool Shed and Pro records, so you can use them on another device. Signing in starts sync. Plan files and weather points stay on the device.
Pro verification, if you apply for a verified pro badge: your trade, business name, license or registration number, and proof of insurance. We check these against public records.
Founding member invites. If you join with an invite code, we keep which code you used. Only staff can see it. Your profile shows a "Founding member" badge.
In Pro mode you can keep records for your own business:
client cards: name, phone, email, address and notes,
crew cards for the people who work with you: names, phone numbers, pay rates, hours worked, the days they're scheduled and the tools lent to them,
job addresses, measurements, sketches, notes, checklists and cut lists,
estimates, change orders, invoices and the payments you record,
the ways clients can pay you (for example a payment link, a Zelle email or phone number, an Interac e-Transfer email, or a mailing address for checks),
your price book, estimate templates, schedule, service plans and equipment records, van and shop stock, and your review link,
job photos tagged before, during or after, with captions.
Without an account, all of this stays on your device. With an account, we store a copy on our servers (sync) so you can use it on your other devices. It is private to you. Other users and the public can't see it.
We store client data for you. You decide what goes in and what is shared, and you are responsible for having your clients' permission (see our Terms of Use). We don't contact your clients, use their details for anything else, or share them with anyone. StudSheet staff don't open your Pro workspace except to keep the service running, to help when you ask, or when the law requires.
Crew details are treated like client cards. They stay on your device and, if you sync, in your account. We never show them to anyone else. You are responsible for having your crew's permission to keep them.
Client links. You can publish a read-only page about a job at a link like app.studsheet.com/share/.... It shows what you put on it: for example photos, measurements, the estimate, change orders, invoices, how to pay you, and any client details you include. Anyone who has the link can open it, without an account, until you turn it off. Client links are not listed in StudSheet and are marked so search engines don't index them. A link shows a snapshot; when you send a change order or an invoice, the page is updated at the same address.
Client approvals and signatures. On a client link, your client can approve and sign an estimate, and approve or decline a change order. We store the name they type, the signature they draw (if they draw one), their decision, the time, and a code (a "hash") that ties the decision to the exact version they saw. We don't record their IP address or device for this. The pro sees the decision in their job.
Card payments (Stripe). If a pro connects a Stripe account and turns on card payments, a client can pay an invoice by card from the client link. The client pays on Stripe's own page, and the money goes straight to the pro's Stripe account. StudSheet takes no fee and never sees or stores card numbers. We keep the payment record: the invoice, the amount and currency, the status, the time, and Stripe's reference numbers. For the pro's Stripe account we keep its Stripe ID, its country and whether it can take payments. Stripe handles the payment under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy ↗), and the pro's Stripe account is between the pro and Stripe.
Equipment pages. A pro can print a QR label for equipment they installed or service, such as a furnace or a water heater. Scanning it opens a page at app.studsheet.com/equipment/... with the equipment (type, brand, model, serial number, install date, warranty, where it is), its last and next service, and the pro's business name, phone and license. It never shows the client's name or address. Anyone who scans the label or has the link can open it, until the pro turns it off. These pages are not listed and are marked so search engines don't index them.
Review requests. When a job is done, a pro can send their client a short note with the pro's review link. StudSheet opens the pro's own text, email or WhatsApp app with the note ready. We don't send it and don't receive the reply.
Exports. Before/after images and videos, sketches, PDF reports and the accountant CSV export are made on your device. When you send them to Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, email or another app, they go straight from your device to that app, under its own terms. We don't receive them, and we can't take them back.
If you're a contractor's client or crew member: your contractor controls this data. Ask them to change or delete it. If you can't reach them, email us and we'll help.
A pro (the "owner") can invite people on their crew to use StudSheet with their own accounts. The owner picks a role for each person: foreman or worker. The owner gets a one-time invite code to pass on; we keep only a scrambled copy of it (a hash), and it stops working after 14 days or once it is used. A crew member signs in with their own email address.
What crew members see. Only what the owner's app shares for the jobs they are on: the job name, the client's name and the job address, site notes, the days and times they're scheduled, checklist items to do, the materials and tools list without prices, and the photos the owner picked. The client's phone and email are included only when the owner allows it for that job. A foreman also sees every open job the team shares (with the client's name and address) and the crew list (names and trades). Prices, estimates, invoices and pay rates never go to crew accounts: our server refuses them, whatever the app sends.
What crew members send. Hours (clock in and clock out), notes, photos and checklist answers for jobs they can see. Foremen can also assign people to jobs. These wait until the owner approves or rejects them. Clocking in doesn't use your location: StudSheet never collects GPS or location for crew accounts.
Who sees it. The owner sees each crew member's sign-in email and everything they send. The crew member sees what they sent. Photos are stored privately, in the crew member's own storage folder: the owner can open and delete the photos sent to the team, and crew members can open the photos on the jobs they can see.
Removing someone and deleting. When the owner removes a crew member, their access stops right away; anything they sent that is still waiting stays with the owner to approve or reject. If the owner deletes their account, the team, what it shared and what members sent go with it. If a crew member deletes their account, what they sent and their photos go with it, and the owner keeps only their name on the crew list as "not signed in".
When you ask for quotes on a job, we collect:
the job: its title, the Sheet you made (your answers and the summary), the kind of work, when you'd like it done, and the details you write,
the ZIP or postal code of the job, and your town if you enter it,
a phone number or an email address so pros can reach you,
your name, if you enter one.
You need an account to send a request, so you can read the answers and close it. We don't ask for your street address or photos: the pros who answer will ask for what they need.
Who sees your request. It goes to the StudSheet lead board, where only pros who are registered in StudSheet, verified by us, and cover your area and that kind of work can see it. Electrical, plumbing and HVAC jobs can only be answered by pros verified in that trade.
Pros who can see it see the job, the Sheet, your town, the ZIP code (in Canada, only the first three characters of the postal code), the timing and the details. They don't see your name or contact.
Up to 3 pros can answer. A pro who answers gets your name (if you gave one) and your phone or email, so they can contact you.
You see each answer: the pro's message, business name, and phone or email.
Verified pros whose area and trade match get an email that a homeowner near them asked for quotes (the job and the area only). You get an email when a pro answers.
We don't sell your request or give it to anyone else. Your phone number and email are never posted publicly.
If no pro covers your area yet, we tell you before you send. Your request can stay open for 30 days in case a pro joins. You can also tap "count my area": we then keep only the ZIP or postal code, the kind of job and the time, with nothing that identifies you, to see where pros are needed.
Requests stay open for 30 days, or until you close them. See How long we keep data.
If you're a pro on the lead board, we keep the trades you work in and your service area (ZIP codes, the first digits of a ZIP code, or postal areas), and whether you want new-request emails. We use them to match requests and to show how many pros cover an area (a number, not who they are). When you answer a request, the homeowner sees your message, business name, and the phone or email you give. Use the homeowner's details only to answer that request (see our Terms of Use).
The older partner-crew path is off. StudSheet can also send quote requests to one partner crew, a business owned by members of the founder's family. That path is turned off. If we ever turn it on, the quote form will name the crew, say that it is owned by the founder's family, and show exactly what is sent before you tap Send, and we will update this policy first.
Sponsor cards. The community tab can show one card from a local business or a brand that paid for the spot, labeled Sponsored. Until someone buys the spot, it shows a card from IONIAN Digital, the company that makes StudSheet, labeled From the makers of StudSheet.
Your device downloads the same list of current cards as everyone else and picks one from the area you set in StudSheet (your state or province, or your ZIP or postal code). Nothing about you is sent to pick a card.
We don't count views or taps, and there is no tracking pixel or ad ID. If you tap a card, the sponsor's website opens in your browser, under that site's own privacy policy.
Sponsor cards never appear on client links, equipment pages or printouts.
"Advertise here". If you ask about buying the spot, we collect your name, business, email or phone, the area you'd like, and your message. Only our staff see it. If you buy a spot, we bill you with a Stripe invoice, and Stripe handles the payment under its own privacy policy.
On the website, "Buy the maker a coffee" opens a Stripe payment page. You pay on Stripe's page, and the app never sees the payment. Stripe gives us the payment record it gives every merchant (the amount, the date, the name and email you enter on Stripe's page, and limited card details such as the card type, country and last four digits). We use it only for our accounting, taxes and refunds. A tip doesn't unlock anything. It isn't offered in the iPhone or Android apps.
If you email support, we keep your email address and what you write so we can help you.
Our hosting and database providers keep short-term logs: IP address, browser or device type, and the time of each request. This includes the web addresses requested, so for a calculator embedded on another website the log shows which website it was on. We use these logs only to keep the service running and to stop abuse. We do not use IP addresses to work out where you are.
Only if you agree, in the "Help us improve StudSheet" prompt or in Settings → Usage stats, the app sends anonymous usage statistics to our analytics provider PostHog ([United States or EU] cloud) so we can see which screens and features are used.
What it includes: general screen names (like "a job's invoice"); actions such as viewing or saving a Sheet, opening the shopping list, sending a quote request, turning on Pro mode, sharing an estimate or making an invoice; the type of project (like "deck"); and the website's name when you arrive from a calculator embedded on another site. It also includes a random identifier created on your device, the app version, the operating system and the device type.
What it never includes: your answers, measurements, notes, prices, photos, contacts, client details, address, ZIP or postal code, location, name or email. We don't link these statistics to your account. IP addresses are discarded and not stored.
Nothing is collected before you agree. You can turn it off at any time in Settings. That stops collection and erases the identifier. Because the statistics aren't linked to you, we can't find or delete the ones already sent; they expire as below.
We keep the statistics up to [12] months, use them only to improve StudSheet, and never sell them or use them for advertising.
Calculators embedded on other websites, client links and equipment pages send no usage statistics.
Other websites can show a StudSheet calculator in a box on their pages. The box runs the calculator in your browser. It sets no cookies, saves nothing, sends no usage statistics and doesn't sign you in. The website owner can't see what you type in it. If you tap the link to the full Sheet, StudSheet opens with the sizes you typed, under this policy.
StudSheet's ChatGPT and Claude connector receives the job description and sizes you send, uses them only to compute the answer, and keeps no record of them. It needs no account and gets nothing else from us or about you. Your chat itself is handled by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own privacy policies. The answer includes a link that opens the Sheet in StudSheet.
Your location. The app asks for your device's location only when you tap "Check the weather here", asks only for an approximate location, rounds it on your device, and sends it only to the weather service (see section 1). It never comes to us, and it isn't used for anything else. Crew clock-in uses no location.
Camera images from a room scan, and the plan files you open. They stay on your device.
Your contacts, calendar or health data. We don't read your phone's address book; pros type client details in themselves.
Payment card numbers. Stripe takes them on its own page.
Advertising IDs.
Location data inside photos. We remove it on your device before a photo is uploaded.
We do not use your data for targeted ads. We do not sell it. We do not use it to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. (Matching a quote request to pros uses only the job's area and kind of work.)
These are public and anyone can see them, including people without an account:
your handle, town and badges (verified pro, founding member),
for verified pros: the trade, license or registration number and the date your insurance runs to, as shown on your badge,
your posts, comments and the photos in your posts,
vote totals, and
if you are a verified pro, your sign-off on a calculator's rules.
The StudSheet team account is ours and is labeled as such. It posts common questions with answers and announcements.
Public pages may show up in search engines. [Founder: decide whether community pages are hidden from search engines.]
We never show your email, your ZIP code, your synced data, your quote requests, your individual loadout logs, or a pro's client or crew records. We block street addresses in posts.
Anyone who has a client link a pro created can see what it contains, and approve, sign or pay on it, until the pro turns it off. Anyone who scans an equipment label or has its link can see that equipment page. Anyone who opens these pages can also save or forward what they see.
See Quote requests and the lead board.
See Crew accounts.
When you tap "Check the weather here", your device sends the rounded point (about 1 km) straight to the National Weather Service (United States) or Environment and Climate Change Canada, and gets the forecast back. Nothing else goes with it. These government services answer the request under their own policies; we don't receive the point or the forecast.
If you use StudSheet inside ChatGPT or Claude, your chat is handled by OpenAI or Anthropic under their own privacy policies. They send our connector only the job description and sizes (section 12).
Stripe takes card payments to pros (through Stripe Connect), tips on the website, and sponsor invoices. Stripe receives the payment details you type on its pages and uses them under its own privacy policy. We send Stripe only what it needs to set up a payment (for example the invoice amount and the pro's Stripe account).
These companies process data for us, under contracts, and only to provide their service to us:
[Founder: keep this table matched to the providers you actually use.]
If you download the app from the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google handles the download under its own privacy policy.
We share data when the law requires it, for example to answer a valid court order. We may share data to protect someone's safety. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as federal law requires.
StudSheet is planned to move from IONIAN Digital to its own company. If that happens, or if [StudSheet LLC] is merged or sold, your data may move to the new owner. This policy will keep applying to it, and we will tell you first.
We do not sell personal data.
We do not share personal data for targeted advertising. There are no ad networks, ad IDs or tracking pixels in StudSheet. Sponsor cards are picked on your device from the area you set, and we don't count who sees or taps them.
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and no third party tracks you through StudSheet. Usage stats, if you say yes, stay inside StudSheet and aren't linked to you or to other apps. That is why the app never asks for permission to track.
Global Privacy Control: we honor it. We treat it as a request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising (which we don't do anyway). Usage stats stay off unless you turn them on yourself.
Do Not Track: we don't track you across sites, so there is nothing different for us to do when your browser sends it.
We only email you when you ask for something or when we need to tell you about your account:
the sign-in codes you ask for,
replies when you write to us,
quote request emails: to verified pros, that a homeowner in their area asked for quotes (pros can turn these off); to homeowners, that a pro answered their request, and
account notices: security notices, a moderation decision about your post, the confirmation that your account was deleted, and notice of important changes to this policy or our Terms.
We don't send newsletters, offers or any other marketing email, and we don't send text messages. If that ever changes, we will ask for your permission first, and every marketing email will say who sent it and have a working unsubscribe link.
Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) covers commercial electronic messages. The emails above aren't commercial, and the ones you ask for, like sign-in codes, replies and answers to your quote request, are exempt. If we ever send marketing email, we will follow CASL's rules on consent, identifying ourselves and unsubscribing.
Pros who answer your quote request keep their own records once they have your details, for example estimates and signed contracts.
In the app: Me → Settings → Delete my account.
On the web: go to app.studsheet.com/delete-account. You can sign in with a code and delete your account, or email us.
Your posts, comments, photos and votes disappear from public view right away.
Your profile, logs, synced data and sign-in account are deleted within 30 days. Backups are overwritten within [7] days after that.
Deleting your account also deletes your client cards, crew cards, jobs and Pro records, turns off and deletes every client link and equipment page you made, deletes your quote requests and answers, your service area, and your crew team (or, for a crew member, what you sent to the team).
A connected Stripe account isn't deleted: it belongs to you at Stripe. Close it in your Stripe dashboard.
You can also delete single posts, comments, photos, logs, client cards, crew cards, jobs, receipts and takeoffs at any time, close a quote request, and turn off any client link or equipment page.
Usage stats: turn them off in Settings → Usage stats. That stops them and erases the random identifier on your device. The statistics already sent aren't linked to you, so we can't single them out; they are deleted after [12] months.
Data on your device: delete it in the app (Settings → Delete my data on this device also deletes plan files and weather points), remove the app, or clear this site's data in your browser.
StudSheet is for people 13 and older. It is not made for children.
You must be 14 or older to create an account, join the community or send a quote request, wherever you live. We chose 14 because Quebec's law requires a parent's or guardian's consent to collect personal information from a child under 14.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 14. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 14, we delete the account and its content.
Parents and guardians: email support@studsheet.com with the subject "Child account" and we will act on it.
For teens under 18 we never sell data, show targeted ads, or build profiles. Sponsor cards are chosen only by the area set on the device, the same for everyone in that area. (New Jersey law requires consent before selling data, targeted advertising or profiling with data from teens aged 13 to 16. We don't do them for anyone.)
In states where app stores share an age range with apps, such as Texas and Utah, we use the age range from Apple or Google only to apply our age rules and the law. We don't use it for anything else.
Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:
tell you what personal data we have about you and give you a copy,
correct it,
delete it,
give you a copy in a format you can take elsewhere, and
opt out of sale, targeted advertising and profiling. We don't do any of these, but you can still ask.
If you live in Canada, you have these rights too, plus a few more: see If you're in Canada.
New Jersey residents have these rights under the New Jersey Data Privacy Act.
How to ask: email support@studsheet.com with the subject "Privacy request". Send it from the email on your account, or tell us your handle. We will confirm it's you by sending a code to your account email. An authorized agent can ask for you if they send your signed permission.
When we answer: within 45 days. If we need more time, we will tell you why, and we can take up to 45 more days. In Canada the time limits are shorter: see If you're in Canada.
If we say no: reply with the subject "Appeal" within [60] days. We will answer within 45 days and explain why. If you still disagree, you can contact the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs at njconsumeraffairs.gov ↗, or your state attorney general.
We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
New Jersey covered persons (Daniel's Law): if you are a covered person and see your home address or unlisted phone number in StudSheet, email us with the subject "Daniel's Law". We remove it within 10 business days, as the law requires.
This section adds to the rest of this policy for people who live in Canada.
The laws that apply. Canada's federal privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), covers how we handle personal information about people in Canada. In Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25) also applies. In Alberta and British Columbia, those provinces' Personal Information Protection Acts may apply.
Who is responsible. [StudSheet LLC] is responsible for the personal information it holds. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information is:
[Name and title of the person in charge]
[Mailing address]
support@studsheet.com, with the subject "Privacy request"
Contact this person with any question about this policy, including how our service providers outside Canada handle your information, or to get our written policies about those providers.
Your information is stored outside Canada. Our database is in the United States (Supabase, East US region), our website is hosted in [Country and region], and our other service providers work in the United States or on global networks (see Service providers). When you use StudSheet from Canada and sign in, your account and synced data are sent to and stored in the United States. If you say yes to usage stats, they go to PostHog's [United States or EU] cloud. There, U.S. law applies to it, and U.S. courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to get it. Our providers have agreed in contracts to protect it and to use it only to provide their services to us. Before we send personal information outside Quebec, we assess the privacy risks, as Quebec law requires.
Consent and your choices. We use your personal information only for the purposes in this policy, and we will ask you before we use it for anything new. You can use most of StudSheet without giving us any personal information. Without an account you can't post in the community, sync your devices or send quote requests. You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting what you shared, closing a quote request, or deleting your account (see Deleting your data). The most private settings are the defaults: what you make stays on your device until you sign in, nothing about you is public until you join the community, and your name and contact go to a pro only when that pro answers your request. We don't use technology that identifies or profiles you, and features that use your location or count your use are off until you turn them on: weather asks for your approximate location only when you tap "Check the weather here" (and sends it only to the weather service), and usage stats start only if you say yes. Sponsor cards are picked on your device from the area you set, and we don't make decisions about you by automated processing alone.
Your rights. You can ask us to:
give you access to your personal information and a copy of it,
correct it,
tell you how we have used it and who we have shared it with,
delete it, and
in Quebec, give you the computerized information you gave us in a structured, commonly used format, and stop spreading your information or de-index a link to your name when the law allows it.
Ask the way described in Your privacy rights. We answer within 30 days. Under federal law we may take up to 30 more days in a few situations the law allows; if we do, we will tell you why within the first 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, contact our person in charge. You can also complain to:

Security incidents. If an incident involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm to you (in Quebec, a risk of serious injury), we will tell you directly and report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or Alberta's Information and Privacy Commissioner when their laws apply. We keep a record of every incident, including those that didn't need a report.
Emails. We don't send marketing email. See Emails we send.
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
Our database and storage providers encrypt stored data.
Database rules let only you read your private data, such as synced jobs. Pros on the lead board can't read requests directly: the server gives them the job and the area, and the contact only when they answer.
There are no passwords to steal. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email.
Client links, equipment pages and crew invite codes use long random codes that can't be guessed.
Only staff accounts that the founder sets up have administrator access, and the admin screens can't open anyone's Pro workspace.
We remove location data from photos on your device before upload.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.
Our database is in the United States, and so are most of our service providers. Our website is hosted in [Country and region]. Usage stats, if you say yes, are stored in PostHog's [United States or EU] cloud. StudSheet is made for people in the United States and Canada. If you live in Canada, see If you're in Canada.
When we change this policy, we post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change is important, we will also show a notice in the app and email account holders at least [14] days before it takes effect.
